If you would like to learn more about how to use the online classroom, as well as troubleshooting tips, we are running seminars at 6pm on Tuesdays and 11am on Thursdays for tutors! You can see how to join one here.
In the online classroom, there is a screen sharing option which both you and your students can use to share documents on their screen!
To have the best experience when screen-sharing, we would recommend using Google Chrome, as it gives you the option to share either your entire screen, a particular application you have open, or a tab on your browser!
Once you're in the classroom, you'll need to be in either the default or whiteboard only view - you can change this using the toolbox found in the top bar of the classroom, and by selecting either the middle or far right option!
Once you're in either of these views, you can click the square with an arrow icon in the bottom left hand corner - it'll then expand and give you a few options, and to screen share, you'll just need to click the top one!
Alternatively, you can also head to the toolbar on the right-hand side of the page, which looks like this:
From here, select the screen share option, which will open a drop-down menu:
You'll need to click the small 'Play' icon next to Start Sharing to begin sharing your screen.
Once you have clicked either of these options, you will receive a pop-up window that will ask which screen you would like to share, either your full screen, an application or a tab within your browser!
Select which window you would like to share and then click Share at the bottom. Your student will now be able to see the content!
You also have the option to have your video feed show up as a tab within the classroom, so you can go through and annotate it - this is really useful if you do have a physical document that you want to show the student! To do this, you'll just need to click on the same box with an arrow icon in the bottom right hand corner, and then select the second option down (the webcam icon).
You'll then see a pop up with your video feed, where you can change the camera if you do have multiple ones connected to your device - once you confirm this, you'll then see your video feed appear within a tab in the classroom!
