For Tutors - A Brief Guide on the Sorting/Filtering Feature on the Search Results Page

We’ve added some great new features to our search results page, that now puts you in more control of finding the perfect tutor that suits your needs. Students can now sort and filter our amazing list of tutors and refine their search based on their tutoring requirements. 

Using the sorting

The sorting feature is super easy to use! Once the student/parent gets to the search results page, they can use the drop down menu in the top right corner of the search results, and click on a sorting option. The search results will then re-order the results, showing the student/parent the top results based on the sorting option they’ve chosen. 

We have factored in our search result ranking as part of the sorting options, so if a student/parent searches for the lowest price tutor, it will show them the lowest price tutors who have the highest tutor ranking. 

Using the filtering

Similar to the sorting feature, using the sidebar, the student/parent can click on the filter options they want to filter the results by, and the page will re-order based on the sorting option selected, and also filter out any tutors that don’t match the filters they’ve selected. 

Again, the tutor ranking has been factored into the ordering of the search results, so this will be taken into consideration when ordering the tutors in the search results. 

Students can also search for in-person tutors using the filters on the site, and can do so by entering their postcode or location, and then setting how far they'd be willing to look for tutors using the distance filter!
